Bulkhead Repair Part 4 - 2018
Outer vent panels.
Two replacement panels were welded together and held up for marking out.
Hinge brackets removed with plenty of measurements taken to get them back in the correct position.
The under-bonnet gutter was also removed.
The final major welding part of the build and possibly the most important to get visually correct. This bulkhead repair has been a mammoth task with many late evenings but the final product has been worth the effort, for sure.
It is solid, accurate and good looking.
With most of the rotten metal cut out in went the new sections.
Days of repeatedly offing up the part, marking, measuring and rechecking went on.
Spot welding a little bit at a time it started to come together.
Eventually getting fully welded up. Messy, but solid.
Re-attach the bonnet hinges and gutter.
Cleaning the welds off then filling in any missing parts.
After weeks of working on it. It was done.
